Canada just like the US is ill prepared for a massive solar storm.....Electric utilities in the US alone do not have the money to protect all the grids from such an event as the cost would be astronomical...

As far as worrying about it...I wouldn't....Theres really nothing we can do except prepare for it if and when it happens.
